Program:

Registration opens at 06:30 with free coffee and Bio Zest. The Start / Finish is at the Wine Village in the Hemel-en-Aarde Craft Village at the entrance to Hermanus.

The 21.1 km event starts at 08:30 and follows the R320 road into the beautiful Hemel-en-Aarde Valley towards Caledon. There is a steady climb between vineyards and olive trees on the Hamilton Russell Vineyards Wine Estate, up onto Rotary Drive and along the crest of the Raed-na-Gael mountains. A roller coaster up and down ascent leads runners to Hennie-se-Kop. The view is breathtaking, the track taxing. The route home takes runners along Rotary Drive, past the waterworks, around the Preekstoel, down Leg-break Pass and rejoins the R320 back to the Wine Village.

The 11 km run starts at 08:45 and takes runners on the R320. 3 kms on, runners turn right into Patryskloof. The grassy climb is only the beginning of more to come. The jeeptrack leads runners through some of the most beautiful fynbos and protea bush. A right turn onto Rotary Drive and it is time to relax a bit. Here runners can enjoy the spectacular view of Walkerbay and the Hemel-en-Aarde Valley. Then down and around the Preekstoel, down Leg-break Pass and back home.

A 5 km Fun Run starts at 09:00 and takes runners into the valley for an easy relaxing jog. Old and young will enjoy the beautiful scenery. The 5km run is push- and wheel chair friendly, but by no means easy. Bear in mind that the road is uneven and sandy in parts.
The 11 km and 5 km routes are very walker friendly and we invite all walkers of all ages to join us.
A free cup of hot soup and a roll awaits all participants at the end of the race.
